While the world breaks its fast in comfort, thousands of families in Gaza continue to endure displacement, food insecurity, and unimaginable hardship. Throughout Ramadan, our team is on the ground every single day, working tirelessly to ensure that no family is left without a warm meal, dignity, or hope.
From early morning preparations before suhoor to late-night planning, our staff is hard at work:
Our Ramadan food baskets are carefully prepared with essential staples such as rice, flour, lentils, oil, canned goods, dates, and other nutritious items. Each basket is designed to sustain a family through multiple days of fasting, helping relieve the burden of rising food costs and scarcity.
For families who do not have access to cooking facilities, we distribute freshly prepared, ready-to-eat iftar meals daily. These meals ensure that even the most vulnerable, children, the elderly, and the injured, can break their fast with dignity and nourishment.
In addition to full food baskets, we provide smaller meal kits containing ingredients for specific Ramadan dishes. These kits allow families to prepare traditional meals, preserving a sense of normalcy and comfort during difficult times enabling them to cook the meals that they like.
Ramadan is about community. Hanoon Foundation organizes communal suhoor and iftar gatherings in displacement shelters, bringing families together to share meals in an atmosphere of unity and spiritual strength.
These gatherings are more than meals, they are moments of hope, connection, and solidarity.
